The Idaho 1/4 Goldback celebrates Justitia, representing the virtue of justice. Depicted with the traditional scales, sword and blindfold, Justitia symbolizes fairness, impartiality and the measured application of justice. Measuring just 1.99 x 3.228 inches, this release is the smallest Goldback denomination produced to date.
Goldbacks combine the familiar appearance and flexibility of traditional paper currency with thin layers of 24-karat gold. First introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, Goldbacks are designed as a voluntary form of local currency that businesses and individuals may choose to accept. The concept has since expanded to additional states, with Idaho becoming the eighth state to introduce its own distinctive Goldback series.
