Engelhard Corporation was founded in 1902 as the American Platinum Works by Charles W. Engelhard Sr. in Newark, New Jersey. The company initially focused on refining platinum for jewelry and industrial uses.

The obverse of the 10 oz Engelhard Cast Poured Silver Bar comes with all of the hallmarks and designs for the bar. At the center is the Engelhard Bull, the company logo with the addition of a circle and half-circle on the left of the logo to mimic a stylized bull.
