Each of these 100 oz RCM Silver Bars are produced by the Royal Canadian Mints silver refiner. Established in 2006, the new silver refinery at the Royal Canadian Mint was installed purely for the production of silver bars. The addition of the state-of-the-art machines enables the RCM to create silver bars with less waste.
On the obverse of the 100 RCM Silver Bar youll find the only identifying markers on the product. There is an engraving of the Royal Canadian Mints official logo at the top of the bar, which consists of a maple leaf in the center. The name of the Royal Canadian Mint is engraved around it in both English and French.
Below those markings youll find other engravings of the year of production, a unique serial number issued to each bar, and the weight, metal content, and purity of each silver bar. The Royal Canadian Mint is the official mint facility of Canada. Founded in Ottawa in 1908, the location in the federal capital city was the sole facility until the 1980s. A new Winnipeg location was built at the time to expand the operational capacity of the mint.
