THE ICONIC MRCURY DIME

Many of our customers are avid Mercury Dime collectors so this article will be devoted to that iconic and classic US Coin.

Minted between 1916 and 1945, the Mercury Dime was designed by the prolific American sculptor, Adolph A Weinman who also designed the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The obverse of the dime features a young Liberty with a winged cap. Initially this coin was named Winged Liberty but the public wrongly began associating the winged cap with the Roman God of Commerce, Mercury. This misnomer eventually stuck giving this dime its unique name.

If you've ever wanted a Mint State example of this iconic US Coin we received a number of the later dates(1939-45) in grades of NGC MS-65 and better.

We hope you enjoyed this issue. If you want to add to or start your coin collection today use Code "MERCURY10" from July 1st through the 30th at checkout to receive a 10% discount on any and all Mercury Dimes.
