In a unique twist on legal tender gold bullion, in 2016 the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a gold bar with legal tender status. The bars were issued a face value of $25 (CAD) and sealed inside of credit cardsized packaging.

Each 1/10 oz Royal Canadian Mint Legal Tender Gold Bar was struck in 2016 with a face value in Canadian dollars. The bars are individually sealed within a package that includes a total of 5 individual bars. The bars come with an assay card validating the weight and purity of each bar from the Royal Canadian Mint.
