The US Mint certifies that this set contains one (1) uncirculated version of the one ounce, 22-karat U.S. gold bullion coin and one (1) uncirculated version of the one ounce U.S. silver bullion coin
The Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 authorizes the United States Mint to strike and issue gold bullion coins.
The Liberty Coin Act authorizes the United States Mint to strike and issue a one dollar coin containing one troy ounce of .999 silver.
These coins were produced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the American Eagle Gold and Silver Coins first produced in 1986.
$50 Gold Eagle Coin Design
Obverse: A version of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
Reverse: Male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and eaglets.
$1 Silver Eagle Coin Design
Obverse: Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.
Reverse: Heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.
